The people of Hertfordshire have a lot of similarities, from their renowned personalities to their long-standing history. Hertfordshire is also well-connected to highways and railways, making it easy to access London, the Midlands and the North. It has a long history that dates back to 913 when it was allocated to a fortress built in Hertford under Edward the Elder.
The Industrial Revolution brought a population surge to the area, and today the eastern regions are mainly rural and arable, with small and medium-sized towns and cities scattered throughout. The county is home to Hertfordshire County Council, which is based in Hertford, the main market town and current county town. The boundaries of the county were fixed by the Counties (Separate Parts) Act of 1844, and were modified in 1965 when parts of East Barnet and Barnet were transferred to form part of the London Borough of Barnet and Potters Bar urban district of Middlesex was transferred to Hertfordshire. The county is also home to many famous faces, including KSI who achieved fame on YouTube while still in school. Victoria Beckham is another well-known face from Hertfordshire who achieved hits that will never be forgotten. Hertfordshire is also home to many places and districts, including St Albans where a young man who is now 28 years old originally lived with his family before they moved to Watford.
